The Cosmic 2x4 Is NOT a Punishment
The Angels are nudging me to share a bit more about the Cosmic 2×4, which we’ve talked about in our book, and which has come up during some of our recent podcast interviews.
So, first, here’s a quick description of the Cosmic 2×4:
Let’s say you’ve been “pushing through” for a long time, perhaps forcing yourself to go to a job you hate … or forcing yourself to stay in a very difficult relationship.
All day, every day, the Angels will bring you Divine guidance about this situation. At first, that guidance might seem kind of quiet and subtle, and you might miss it … or ignore it … or override it with logic or “shoulds.”
As time goes by, the Angels will start turning up the volume on your Divine guidance, making it louder and more obvious.
And … eventually … if you keep ignoring your guidance, the Angels might get out a Cosmic 2×4 and give you a whack.
What’s a Whack?
Getting whacked with a Cosmic 2×4 could look like suddenly getting laid off … or having your significant other suddenly dump you … or throwing your back out and having to lie still for several weeks.
In other words: A Cosmic 2×4 is a big, shock-to-the-system kind of event.
It definitely gets your attention. AND it changes your circumstances.
Not a Punishment
But here’s the thing: The Angels want to make it super clear that the Cosmic 2×4 is NOT a punishment. It’s more of a “love tap” … because the Angels do it with great Love.
Seriously.
The Angels Love you so much that, eventually, they will get you out of a situation that they’ve been trying to guide you to leave on your own.
When the Angels put it that way, the Cosmic 2×4 doesn’t sound like punishment at all, does it?
Why It’s Shocking
Still, the Cosmic 2×4 almost always feels like a shock when it happens. One of the reasons for this is because the Angels rarely “intervene” in our everyday lives—at least, not in such an obvious way.
The Truth is: The Angels ARE always helping us.
But, usually, the Angels’ help is more “behind the scenes.” For instance, they’re always making sure things happen in Divine perfect timing. So, if you’re driving, this could look like getting all green lights (or all red lights!) on the way to your destination. Or the Angels might make sure that you keep crossing paths with someone, over and over, until the two of you finally connect.
This is real, tangible Angelic assistance, but it’s not in-your-face. And it honors the fact that this is a free-will planet, which means you are free to follow your Divine guidance … or not. And you are free to say yes to the opportunities the Angels bring your way … or not.
Angelic Interventions
In other words: Most Angelic assistance is more of a gentle suggestion … or a nudge. But there are rare occasions when the Angels intervene more dramatically.
For instance, you might be driving and suddenly feel the steering wheel yanked from your hands, making your car turn right instead of going straight. You might not even realize that the Angels did this. It might just seem like you suddenly found yourself going a different way.
And … more often than not … you won’t know why the Angels intervened in these kinds of situations, because the intervention helped you avoid some sort of potentially life-changing event, such as a car crash. And when you avoid something, there’s no way to know what didn’t happen, so you won’t receive “external proof” that there was Divine perfection in the unfolding.
In other words: If you avoided driving through an intersection at the precise moment that a huge truck ran a red light, then the crash never happened. So, how could you know?
Life-Changing Events
While those kinds of interventions are about avoiding potentially life-changing events, getting whacked with a Cosmic 2x4 is kind of the opposite:
It literally is a life-changing event!
When you get whacked with a Cosmic 2×4, your circumstances are suddenly changed, for you.
This gives you a beautiful opportunity: to reflect … to do some inner work … to emerge from the experience different. And, quite often, that is exactly what happens.
Many times, people who have been whacked by a Cosmic 2x4 end up saying (after a few weeks … or months … or years): Getting laid off was the best thing that ever happened to me.
Or: Getting out of that relationship was the best thing that ever happened to me.
The Angels want to point out: It’s NOT a coincidence that we hear almost the exact same words uttered by hundreds and hundreds of different people. The Cosmic 2×4 event shifted the trajectory of their lives in a way that they come to deeply appreciate.
Do You Have to Get Whacked?
That’s why the Angels wanted me to emphasize that the Cosmic 2×4 is NOT a punishment. The Angels wield it with great Love … doing it for us, not to us.
And … you may be wondering: Do I really have to get whacked with a Cosmic 2×4?
Great question!
The answer is (almost always) no.
The simplest way to avoid the Cosmic 2×4 is to pay a bit more attention to your Divine guidance each and every day. That way, you won’t miss the same message coming through … over and over again. Then act on that guidance, so the Angels won’t need to get out a 2×4 and give you a big ol’ whack!
