The Cosmic 2x4 Is NOT a Punishment
The Angels are nudging me to share a bit more about the “Cosmic 2x4,” which I’ve talked about in our book and during some of our podcast interviews.
To describe this phenomenon quickly: Let’s say you’ve been “pushing through” for a long time, perhaps forcing yourself to go to a job you hate … or staying in a very difficult relationship.
The Angels will be bringing you Divine guidance about this situation, all day, every day.
In the beginning, this guidance may seem kind of quiet and subtle. But, as time goes by, the Angels will turn up the volume, more and more.
Getting a Whack
Eventually, if you continue ignoring your Divine guidance (whether you simply don’t notice it or you keep overriding it with logic or “shoulds”), then the Angels may get out the Cosmic 2x4 and give you a whack.
This could look like suddenly getting laid off … or suddenly throwing your back out … or having your significant other suddenly dump you.
In other words: The Cosmic 2x4 is a big, shock-to-the-system kind of event. It definitely gets your attention. AND it changes your circumstances.
Not a Punishment
But here’s the thing: The Angels and I want to make it super clear that the Cosmic 2x4 is NOT a punishment. You could think of it as a “love tap” … because the Angels do it with great Love.
Seriously.
The Angels Love you so much that, eventually, they will get you out of a situation that they’ve been trying to guide you toleave on your own.
When we put it that way, it doesn’t sound like punishment at all, does it?
Why It’s So Shocking
One of the reasons the Cosmic 2x4 feels so shocking is because the Angels rarely “intervene” in our everyday lives in such an obvious way.
The Truth is: The Angels ARE always helping us.
But, usually, their help is more “behind the scenes.” For instance, they’re making sure things happen in Divine perfect timing, perhaps by giving you all green lights on your way somewhere. Or they might be making sure you cross paths with the perfect person … perhaps even encountering them over and over, until you finally connect.
This is real, tangible Angelic assistance, but it’s not in-your-face. And it honors the fact that this is a free-will planet, so you are free to follow your Divine guidance … or not. And you are free to say yes to the opportunities the Angels bring your way … or not.
Angelic Interventions
In other words: Most Angelic assistance is more of a gentle suggestion … or a nudge. But there are rare occasions when the Angels intervene more dramatically.
For instance, you may be driving along and suddenly feel the steering wheel yanked from your hands, as your car turns right instead of going straight. You might not even realize that the Angels did this. It may just seem like you suddenly found yourself going a different way.
And … more often than not … you won’t know why the Angels did this, because whenever we avoid a collision—or any other kind of problem—we typically don’t receive “external proof” that there was Divine perfection in the unfolding. I mean: If you avoided driving through an intersection at the precise moment that a huge truck was running a red light, then the crash never happened. So, how could you know?
Life-Changing Events
The Angels want to add: Those types of interventions are about avoiding potentially life-changing events.
But getting whacked with a Cosmic 2x4 is kind of the opposite: It IS a life-changing event!
Your circumstances are suddenly changed, foryou, which gives you an opportunity to reflect … to do some inner work … and to emerge from this experience different. And … quite often, that is exactly what happens.
A few weeks (or months or years) after getting whacked by a Cosmic 2x4, the “whack-ee” often says something like: Getting laid off was the best thing that ever happened to me.
Or: Getting out of that relationship was the best thing that ever happened to me.
It’s NOT a coincidence that we hear this over and over from people!
And … Before We Get Whacked
In other words: The Cosmic 2x4 is NOT a punishment. The Angels wield it with great Love … doing it for us, not to us.
And … still … we might want to pay a bit more attention to our Divine guidance each day, so that the Angels don’t feel the need to give us a big old whack!
